Our Take Five Respite Program provides peer advocacy support services for individuals experiencing a situational crisis.
Loeb House, Inc. provides two (2) furnished apartments for a period of up to five (5) days for our guests while they resolve the immediate crisis they are facing. Support staff is available from 8 AM to 8 PM with 24/7 telephone coverage provided by managerial staff in case of emergencies.
While in the respite bed, the guest will be provided with a peer companion/mentor who works flexible schedules, allowing maximum creativity in helping the guest make a plan to move forward, to re-gain control of his/her life and to avoid hospitalization when possible.
To be eligible for the Respite bed, the individual must be a Rockland County resident at least 18 years or age in a mental and/or personal crisis who would benefit from one on one intentional peer support in a safe setting. No alcohol or drugs are allowed on the premises. Guests must have experience living independently in the community.
